CNET Reviews HP's iPAQ hx2750
"In September 2004, HP introduced its high-performance, business-class hx4700, wowing us with its large VGA screen, its innovative touch pad, and unfortunately, its eye-popping price tag. Now, the company has released its hx2000 series, offering professionals another mobile business solution. Not to be outdone by its more powerful sibling, the high-end hx2750 has enough talent to shine on its own. It boasts a biometric fingerprint reader for enhanced security, integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and solid performance."
I have to admit, I still don't quite understand HP's strategy here after reading this review. On one hand, you've got the iPAQ hx4700, which is high-end in everything but memory and biometrics. On the other hand, you've got the hx2750 which is high-end in everything but the screen. Is it simply too expensive to have both in a hx7450 (4700+2750  )? Or have they decided that most businesspeople either need VGA or biometrics+RAM? Or is there another reason? Anyway, CNET takes a look at the hx2750 and likes it for the most part.

As Janak said though - very strange logic from HP with regard to the specs.

I'm not sure why the article has the touchpad in the "wow" list.
Most people that I hear from complain about it.
I tried it in Compusa and its terrible.
I think the 2700 and 4700 are both towards different people.
2700 - Business class. Sensible executive.
4700 - Cutting (or bleeding edge) edge power user. Which explains the touch pad.

Just what we were discussing in the other Hx2000 thread.
There's around �50 difference between the X50 and the X50v. Forth that you get the faster 624 Mhz processor, the 2700 graphics accelerator and the VGA screen. All in all, the price of the VGA screen can't be that much.
Why are manufactures bothering to produce these QVGA devices? :confused totally: They can't be that much cheaper.

Agreed. I tried it on the 4700 and did not like it at all. Shame, as I do like Magnesium case & overall look.

4700 + 2750 = 7450 ??
I still won't understand the people who don't think the iPAQ hx4705 has enough memory--never bothered to read the 17 page thread that covered it.
I bet everyone's waiting for an iPAQ hx4700 without the touchpad though. The touchpad is the only thing that held me back from getting one.

I understand the new bluetooth headset requires 20Mb free ram to work properly. Is that reason enough ? (reason number 43 of course  )

So what explains the IR on the bottom of the unit?
Thankfully, it looks like the IR is on the top again with these new units.
