Money 2005 For Pocket PC Released
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=10f833f0-a491-4abf-a183-43c363e3ce76&DisplayLang=en
Microsoft has released Microsoft Money 2005 for Pocket PC for use with their recently released Microsoft Money 2005 desktop personal financial management program. The link above will take you to the 1.4MB download for English devices. It is not yet at the normal Money for Pocket PC site - where you can still download the 2003 and 2004 versions. It requires a Pocket PC 2002 or 2003, 500KB of RAM and Money 2005 on the desktop, US, Canadian, UK and ROW versions only. (What language is "ROW?")
It should work just fine with the Standard, Deluxe, Premium and Small Business editions.

I would guess ROW would mean Rest Of World? But that's just a guess on my behalf...

ROW is definatley rest of world, but it is not a language. English may be the default ROW language, but US and UK already cover that. I suppose that it could be English, but without US and UK specific currency?

Ultimately great news, but I have a number of clients who have migrated to Microsoft's Smartphone platform and bemoan the lack of Money for that OS. I know this is PPC Thoughts, but anyone know if a Smartphone version is coming? TIA!

Is it still the same crippled version for the PocketPC? Like, only good for data entry and maybe an absolute balance?

Yuck.
Garbage.
It is NOT VGA enhanced, it has NO new features, the only difference I see is that it has a new icon (which looks like crap because it's doubled up on my nice VGA screen). Oh, and it works with Money 2005. It took them this long to come up with this?
Anyway, it blows.

I too have been using Cash Organizer due to the almost amazing lameness of Money for the Pocket PC. What really boggles my mind is how the Microsoft version has not improved on even the most basic level, like being able to put more than 15 characters in the memo field. Cash organizer supports just as many characters as the desktop does, why not Pocket Money? Why is it that Cash Organizer seems to have no problem on the sync level as well. Microsoft hands out free software, but it is really worth even less than what you pay for it. What is even more amazing is when they start charging for once free software, like Pocket Streets, and it remains the same lame version as the free one. One would surmise that a company, like Microsoft, which has been really taking it in the teeth for some MAJOR screwups lately, would spend some of its billions to try and keep happy what remains of its users. But no, just more lameness, only with a new new name tagged onto it.
