Default Acer To Release New Windows Mobile Devices

http://www.pocketcenter.de/modules....article&sid=602

Acer, who has quietly launched Pocket PCs in the past, seems interested in making a bigger splash this time (English translation of the article here). They've lined up three Pocket PCs to be released around the end of this month (although it's not clear where). Check out the unusual styling:

Unfortunately, the picture is of low-quality and the image looks a little distorted, but it's still intriguing. Specs will apparently vary from a 266MHz Samsung unit at the low-end to a 520MHz Bulverde unit at the high end. It's not clear what kind of displays these units will feature. You can get a little more information from this Mobinaute article (English translation here).

Always good to see other companies maintaining the list of options.

As for the low-quality photo, it actually looks more like a Photoshop mock-up image as opposed to an actual photo. I smell drop shadows and a poor use of a foreground-to-transparent gradient :wink:

No VGA Why is there always SOMETHING wrong?

(Actually the only thing wrong with the Loox 720 is the pedestrian loox and lack of a flip lid). Still to be my next pocketpc.

Looks like the n50 isn't VGA:
VGA/Landscape Nein/Ja

VGA-> Nein, Landscape ->Ja

Shame because I would have considered this device. I'm still undecided, the loox 720 or the X50v? Oh god it hard :mrgreen:

I'm just wondering what is making you undecided between the loox and the dell. I would have thought the loox is clearly superior?

The X50v is 40 cheaper. I'm quite tight on money right now :cry: But you are right, the loox is a superior toy 0X
