Laridian Expands Library With Tyndale Dictionary And Commentary
Laridian has added a couple of new items for their popular Pocket Bible program. First up is the Tyndale Concise Bible Commentary. As the name suggests, it is concise. It has a wonderful introduction to each book that includes a bit about the date, the author, major themes in the book and when applicable, the geographical significance of the book. It is $14.99.
Next up, and shown above, is the Tyndale Bible Dictionary. Weighing in at 5.4MB, this may be the most comprehensive dictionary available for your Pocket PC. Definitions of all significant people and places are included and it has topical articles for major themes in the Bible. It is also $14.99 - a great value.
Finally, if you have Pocket Bible on your Pocket PC, you need to go download the latest version, 2.026. They put it in your library a few days ago and it fixes a fairly nasty bug that can happen during searches if you have a few options set a certain way and some NT only books.

VGA
The only update that I want from laridian is VGA support built in. I hate having to read the text with pixel doubling.
Does anybody know of a fix to make the text look better in PocketBible?

For VGA Usage (I have a 4700) you need Tweeks2k2 (http://www.pc-counselor.com/downloads.htm). Once you have this, then apply "Brute Force VGA" for Pocket Bible and the text becomes very clear.

tyndale
(1) Ed, thanks for the heads-up!
(2) I second that Tweaks2k does a good job on PB text on a 4700.
(3) I checked the link and didn't see anything that clearly said it was from the Tyndale House at Cambridge. I ASSUME they couldn't use the Tyndale name otherwise, but would like to hear from someone who's bought it and read the intro. I may buy it anyway but it would be nice to know.

The copywrite pages state they are both used with permission from Tyndale House Publishers in Illinois.
