FastCleanup � It Does What It Says!
"Do you need to quickly perform a large clean-up of your temporary files? FastCleanup is for you! This tiny 8kb app will clear out all the \temp and \Windows\Temporary Internet Files directories. And if, for example, you have modified your Registry to place the PIE temporary files onto a storage card, it will find it. So, all the files and directories (cookies too) will be removed, without even asking for confirmation."

This program works great, but beware purging your AvantGo files with it. For some reason it completely broke my AvantGo and I havent been able to resurrect it with a cradle sync (using the 'refresh all content' function) or even by a total reinstall of the AvantGo software. Looks like hard reset time for me.
I've found that pretty much anything that disrupts Avantgo in even a minor way totally hoses the program - power interruption in the middle of a sync, or the program freezes while syncing (for pretty much no reason), or even looking at it funny in the morning.
This is certainly not a knock against FastCleanup as it's doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing. The other major cleanup program (Remover) has now gone to pay/shareware so it's nice to still have a freeware cleanup utility.

Darius,
Thanks again for a lead on a great free product. I have been using Clear Temp, which clears the Pocket PC temp folder at start-up. However, this looks like it has much better features.

Yes. The program does handle AvantGo files a little differently, which can make things a little difficult. If there's an update to this program that resolves the issue, I'll keep you posted.

The latest version release notes state that the Avantgo problem was "fixed"-- Is there still a problem???

I'm not 100% sure as I don't use AvantGo all that often. Here's a quote from the website:

"FastCleanup for Pocket PC
FastCleanup is a very simply tool to cleanup all the temporary and cached files, delete unused files and free up space on your Pocket PC. You don't need to set option or whatsoever. Just one click on the FastCleanup app icon (better to put it on your Today Screen), all the unused temporary and cached files will be deleted.
Features:
delete all temporary files under \Temp directory
delete all Avantgo downloaded files (user can choose not to do so)
delete all IE downloaded files (cache, cookies and history files)
find the cached files and directories (even located on external card) and delete them automatically
Installation:
Just download the zip file and copy the FastCleanup.cab file to your PPC, and click on it with any file explorer on your PPC. It'll be installed under \Program Files\FastCleanup. Or you can choose to install it on an external card.
FastCleanup only takes about 8KB space. It should work on all PPCs with ARM (including XScale) CPUs.
FastCleanup is FREE.
