All Hail myExtensions!
How many times have you painfully had to use a registry editor to manipulate file extensions on your Pocket PC? Well, myExtensions is a simple application that allows you to put those troubles aside. Here are a list of features that myExtensions delivers:
Add file extensions Remove file extensions Associate registered file extensions with different programs Change the description of registered file extensions Change the icon associated with each file extension
Oh...did I mention it was free?

Cool. This looks like a 'keep the cab on an SD card for when it's needed' thing. remember to write protect the file so you can install it without deleting it.

The last time I had to fiddle with file extensions on a Pocket PC was when I was using Imageer's predecessor.
Does anyone remember what Spb Imageer's predecessor was? I still can't remember the name!

Based on people's welcoming attitude, I think this is a feature that people would love to have implemented in the next OS. Yet...I doubt it.
