Default ROM Update for HP iPAQ rx3700

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/22157.html

HP has released a new ROM image for the rx3700 series. This is a full ROM update so it will totally erase your RAM and you should not restore a backup from a previous ROM image. Fixes and enhancements include:

Enables a Bluetooth phone to dial a contact.
Supports Nevo Media, which is compatible with Windows Media Player 10 Mobile.
Adds Windows Media Player 10 Mobile for Pocket PC.
Updates ROM to Bluetooth driver build 2600.
Updates ROM to iPAQ Mobile Media version 2.0.1.87.

You must have ROM version 1.00.09 on your device before you can install this upgrade. I presume that is what came on the device since must be installed on the handheld before this update can be applied. It is in US English only for now and is a 23.3MB download.

Well, HP might choose not to release an update for the hx4700, as it is a business targeted device, and the rx3700 is a media device...we'll just have to wait and see!

Default got mine upgraded today

Upgrade went smooth with one little thing.. I soft reset the device, cradled it to start AS, then launched the install. The install prompted me to soft reset the device , recradle it and click next. I just clicked next as I already did this but the install failed. Seems you have to do the reset during the install.. Works fine

Isn't not being able to dial a contact on a bluetooth phone a 4700 issue also? If so, that's a business-type feature....we can hope.

only if you see the hx4700 play 640x480 clips your jaw will drop from the superp quality and you will never call it a business pocket pc and will never go back to a qvga pocket pc.!!!
