MortPlayer 3.0 Released
Here's a free media player for Pocket PCs that I've never heard of: MortPlayer. Looks like it's been flying under the radar for some time, but it's full of features, including MP3 and Ogg support. And, it's free.

Version 3.0 has many new features, including Second Edition landscape/VGA support. If you've been looking for another media player to try out, perhaps this one is for you.

Looks intertesting. Honestly I can't stand WMP for mp3's. And I think I gotta give it a try just cause the Screenshot of it has it playing The Crϋxshadows. :-)

Awesome! I've been a long time user of Mortplayer and I'm very glad to have a VGA version available. No longer 1/4 screen in true VGA mode now!
Make sure to try the "Car Screen" mode. That's the "killer feature" for me, I listen to a lot of music through the car stereo (it's got an aux input I can patch straight to the PPC).

I read somewhere that purchased iTunes music is somehow related to Ogg. Can some one tell me how? Will this player play iTunes purchased music?
Thanks,

:confused totally: That's a first for me. AAC, which Apple's iTunes uses, is based on MPEG4 which from what I understand isn't related to OGG. Maybe the method that OGG and AAC uses is the same. Other then that. No clue. As for Apple iTMS purchases on a Pocket PC. No. The FairPlay DRM wrapper isn't compatable with any player on the PPC, and I know of only one that does play AAC files. Until Apple licenses FairPlay to 3rd party companies you are SOL when it comes to iTMS songs. The only thing that will play those at this point in time is the iPod and iTunes. Well technically anything that calls the Quicktime API can also play it but that is a diff topic.
All I know is I'm getting my first iPod on the 3rd - 60GB iPod Photo!! :rock on dude!:

no.
you can use the 40thfloor player to play aac. But you will have to crack them, which is possible if you own the files.

I refuse to buy music not in MP3 form. I would rather buy the whole CD myself and do with it what I will, play it on what I want, and burn it as many times as I want then deal with DRM.

Great timing!!!
I encode all my music in Ogg Vorbis now so that's sweet! It sounds like a perfect match for the Toshiba e830 I have coming!!! Man it's hard to buy that thing if you live in the US!!!!
I was just wonding what player I could use to play ogg vorbis on my new pocket pc.
I was hoping to find a pocket pc player that could handle the music I have on my iRiver 40GB player
