Pocket PC Awards 2004
The results of the fourth annual Pocket PC Magazine Pocket PC and Smartphone Software awards are in. The way this works is that the great people of the magazine, in cooperation with members of the community, put together a list of nominated products. Then the members of the Board of Experts come into play, and they vote for their favorite products on this list. This results in a few finalists per category and in the end in one Winner per category. So if you want to learn what according to those people are the best of the best, now you can find out.

In the Video category, I think Betaplayer should have won the award this year. It was not even "Finalist".
The application that won, "DVD to Pocket PC", is a fine DVD ripper interfaced with the WMV encoder from Microsoft.
Too bad this application can only produce WMV, and cannot generate other popular formats like DivX and MPEG.
Note that "DVD to Pocket PC" is probably not legal in the US and in other countries (ripping encrypted DVD is illegal in the US).
