Default Jewish Calendar For The Pocket PC

http://www.handango.com/brainstore/...roductId=140021

IdealTek just recently launched a new application for anybody who wants or needs to keep track of the Jewish calendar. The software is called Pocket Luach and it has all kinds of features.

Here's what it includes:

 Nice graphical UI
 Makes conversion between dates
Allows custom database of dates to remember (birthdays, Bar Mitzvot, Yasheits...),
 Displays time for candle lighting
 Display praying times

IdealTek has also released Pocket Luach Deluxe, which includes all of the features of Pocket Luach, plus:

 Export to Pocket Outlook
 Display of the Parasha name
 Omer calendar
 Full screen display
 Customizable font size

A free demo is available from the Handango site. The full, registered versions are $18.00 for Pocket Luach and $26.00 for Pocket Luach Deluxe.

Very interesting.

I've wanted something like this, but a little less heavy duty. I'd primarily want something that will just put in the Jewish holidays into outlook automatically.

I'd also love some way of practicing Hebrew on my PocketPC.

We just need some more Jewish Pocket PC developers

I will try this program out. I have been using the PocketPC Jewish Calendar software from Tichnut
They have a variety of free and commercial Jewish software for the PocketPC including a Hebrew word processor and a Hebrew vocabulary trainer.

I also use the shareware PocketGabbai today plugin and the free POC.ZMAN for quick Zmanim lookups. (Please note that there is an error in the Poc.Zman database for Chicago. I manually corrected mine.)

There is also quite a bit of free stuff for the PocketPC at JewishContent.org in Hebrew and English.

Thanx for the links. I will try them out and this program as well.
May be a little too full featured, but I will try it out.

OK

Tzivos Hashem has some nice children's books in HTML format. My kids love having me read them a picture book on my PocketPC.

Chabad.org has quite a bit of free online content including these formatted for the pocketpc and suitable for avantgo channels.

PocketYid hasn't been updated recently and many of its links are broken but it still has a lot of stuff.

SeforimOnline has a very large number of seforim in PDF format available for free download (I've found these are not formatted very well for PocketPC but there is a lot of interesting stuff here.) They also have an English audio-MP3 shiur covering the entire Sefer Chareidim by Rabeinu Elazar Azkari (many many hours of audio).

As far as audio content goes, 613.org has a lot. Much of it is in realaudio, but there is some in MP3. The service is free but they appreciate donations.

TorahWeb also has many free MP3 shiurim.

and let me repeat JewishContent.org and its related sites including SichosInEnglish.org have a great deal of free Jewish content for the pocketPC including encapsulated e-books (with hebrew support), audio content and Avantgo channels. They have siddurim, chumash (in english and hebrew, with and without Rashi), tanach, tehillim, mishna, gemara and a lot more. This is my favorite Jewish PocketPC site.
