A Today Screen Add-In Worth Looking At
I know, I know...You're thinking, "All we need is another Today screen add-in." Normally, I might agree with you, but Calendar+ from Mohairsofa (you've gotta love that name) adds some features we've all wished we had at one time or another.
"Calendar Plus is a program that runs under the Pocket PC's Today screen. It emulates the standard Pocket PC Calendar plug-in exactly, except that it offers more features. Features include the ability to see multiple days, the ability to look a given number of appointments ahead, and multiple ways of displaying the various calendar fields."
Beside expanding the Calendar content that's displayed, one of the neatest features of Calendar+ the addition of tap and hold menus that let you manipulate appointments right from the Today screen. To see some more screen shots of how Calendar+ works, take a look at the Mohairsofa site.
And guess what? This great little application is absolutely FREE! So why not download it and give it a try. And if you like it, make sure you drop the developers a line and let them know.

Calendar+ isn't really a new plugin... I used it before, but have fallen more in love with tAgenda resently. Calendar+ takes up to much space on the Today-screen for me.
Currently I use Phone Profiles, BatMemTime, GPRS Monitor, IP Dashboard and tAgenda on my Today Screen.

This is fantastic!!
I have been looking for ages for a Today plug-in that would allow me to display a number of appointments not a number of days!
Some times I have 5-6 appointments in a day sometimes only 0 or 1. What I wanted was a way of telling where I am supposed to be and where I am suppoed to go next...
And by setting it to display the next 2 appointments I can finally do this without filling up my whole today screen with my next 6 appointments!
Thanks for pointing this out!
Andy

This is certainly not a new plug-in - but it is hardly discussed in web sites, so I'm glad it finally has been given some publicity here.
I have been using this excellent plug-in for years now. It has been regularly enhanced, and the latest version adds even more flexibility to displaying the information (even on the newest VGA displays).
This and the Task Plus add-in are the 2 MUST HAVE add-ins that I actually USE day in and day out.
SUPER SOFTWARE!!!!

Nice...however I am already using Pocket Breeze which atleast can change the font sizes and save more space. Looking at the screenshot there isn't much space left for me to use BatteryPack Pro and JournalBar.

You can change the font size, both of the Date/Title bit and the appointments independantly...

That's exactly what we were thinking when we came across this. It's surprising that it hasn't gotten much publicity, especially since it is listed on sites like Handango and PocketGear.
It's good to hear from somebody who has used it for awhile.

That's good to know, because I already have SOOOOOO much stuff already crammed onto my Today screen.
Maybe that needs to be our next poll: How many separate items are listed on your Today screen?

I'm a tAgenda guy myself. Used it for years now and it too is free. That's all I have on my today screen from top to bottom. I have tried this program also, tAgenda just met my needs and was (still is?) more expandable.

I've been using ScaryBear's QuickAgenda for a long time. Though it can't be set to display a certain number of appointments, you can set the number of lines it will display. If you have more appointments than can be displayed in the number of lines you set, it adds a scroll bar. It also collapses so it doesn't clutter the screen when I don't need it. Best of all, it integrates with Pocket Informant.
