Default MGN Reviews PPCTechs' Lil' Sync Pro

http://www.mpx200.org/modules.php?o...order=0&thold=0

"Leonard Wesson over at PPCTechs.com sent over a few things for me to review. One of the items I was anxious to get my hands on was their new Lil' Sync Pro cable that both syncs and charges the iPAQ h6315 (as well as other iPAQ models - see complete review) I picked up a few weeks ago. The big question everyone had was, 'What's the big difference between their cables and a Zip-Linq, or any other retractable cable?' Well, this first pic should immediately take care of that question."

Useful little review -- the pictures are quite enlightening! Retractable sync cables are truly convenient.

The zip-linq sync-charge cable seems very cute, hope not too expensive.

Why the connecters are different in the two cable?

- the only Zip-Linq cable in my arsenal is the USB to mini USB cable as my local Fry's was out of stock of the similar iPAQ connector. However, I have compared it with other ones on the rack that all of the Zip-Linq line are the same in build like the one I had.

I'll make that clarification - thanks!

The one thing that you need to be aware of with these cables is that the spot where the wire enters the USB connector can easily break. Because the wire is extreamly fine and light weight (which it needs to be in order to roll up). I suggest a drop of superglue where the wire enters the connector to make it stronger.

Please note the sync & charge zip Linq cable doesn't charge the iPaq 41xx, especially when the battery is near empty. The PPCTech will charge your iPaq.

Exactly. I think people are missing the point of the article. ;-)

Also, having used a similar small-scale unit from JavoEDGE for my Treo 600, I found that the cable on the smaller units tend to fray much faster from the in and out action.

The PPCTechs cable seems to have a little more to it.

Either way though, one of these retractable USB chargers is a mandatory addition to the well-outfitted mobile tech accessory bag.
