Toshiba e830 is now also Bluetooth Qualified
"Just days after FCC approval to sell the e830 in the US, the Bluetooth Qualification Program has certified the e830. On the Bluetooth site, the PDA is referred to as the GENIO e830. Toshiba hasn't used the GENIO to refer to its PDAs in the US since the 500 series, years ago. Perhaps Genio is coming back to help better brand their Pocket PC line."
Brian from BargainPDA also notes that Toshiba are planning two versions of the e830, one with Bluetooth and the other with Bluetooth and WiFi. The other point is that the device may be out before HP's delayed 4705. This e830 is looking better all the time. Lets just hope that the price is right.

Yeah. As long as this one is priced at the same range as iPaq 4700, I will get one.

Well the processor is a lower speed than the 4705 and the case isn't as flashy, so I would expect it to be under by a reasonable bit. With the 4705's high price that shouldn't be too hard however. :wink:

There's one detail that I have to clarify. The listing on the Bluetooth website is for "Pocket PC e830 / Pocket PC GENIO e830w". And I discovered from Toshiba's japanese website that ALL the PDA's they are selling in Japan are called GENIO. So the listing simply implies that the qualification was done for both the foreign and domestic versions of the device at the same time.
