Default Save 20% on eWallet 4.0: Keep Your Information Secure

http://www.pocketgear.com/basket.as...ncode=ppctp8004

"Use eWallet to store your passwords, PINs, credit card numbers, and all the other information you need, in a safe, secure form. Your information will be safely encrypted, but convenient and easy to access. Complete desktop synchronization lets you enter your info wherever it's easiest for you -- on your desktop or your Pocket PC -- and have it with you wherever and whenever you need it. Over 30 different card forms make it easy for your to store all the kinds of info you want."

If you don't use a digital wallet program, and instead keep your passwords in an Excel or Word document on your Pocket PC, do yourself a favour and get this program. ;-) PocketGear is offering the new 4.0 version at 20% off, which is a sizable discount of $5.99 USD. The greatest feature of eWallet 4.0 by far is the new record-level synchronization. How is that helpful? Well picture this scenario: you update your eWallet with some new info on your desktop computer, and you leave the house without first synchronizing that changed eWallet file to your Pocket PC. You then change something on your eWallet file on the Pocket PC - then return home and sync. Good old ActiveSync will give you two options - destroy the file on the desktop PC, or destroy the file on the Pocket PC. What's a geek to do?

Record-level sync to the rescue: it will sync the data inside the wallet, the only conflict would be if you changed the same RECORD on each computer (and the odds of that are slim). This is a very cool, and often requested, feature. I'm not sure how long this deal on eWallet 4.0 will last, so snap it up if you're interested.

THATS AWESOME!!! Why cant we have that for every file on our pocket pc? Instead of selecting one of the two files, why just not combine the changes?

I've been using the new version, with record-level syncing since it came out, and find it a welcome addition. I wonder if ListPro will soon follow suit?

eWallet is a huge help on a number of fronts, not the least of which is maintaining usernames and passwords for the myriad forums and sites I visit. I have a link for each site, and the user/pass codes. Then eWallet is my single jumping-off point for most of my surfing. It has the added benefit of allowing one to copy in the username and password field on each site, so if there is any keyboard logging going on (on your computer) , you can skirt that as well.

It keeps the websites, credit cards, insurance information, bank accounts, social security numbers, clothing sizes (the holidays are coming!), and voter information, to mention just a few. I was slow to adopt one of the electronic wallets, and now wonder how I managed without it.

Although I think this software is kind of pricey, It is one my most used programs. I have tried the other two, and they all do an excellent job, but I really like ewallet the best. I finally broke down and bought the essentials pack direct from iliumsoft. I've always loved listpro, and I probably use listpro and ewallet more than most any other software (except ubook) I didn't really need the Dockpro program that comes with the essentials pack, but you get all three for 37.95 with the subscribers discount. Great job Ilium!

I bought Flexwallet and it can get you to the website but then you have to go back and look up the username and password and enter them. I'd switch in one minute if there was a way to move my data to eWallet instead of one at a time. There's just too many to move and by the time I moved them, Flexwallet will probably come out with the same feature.

I was begging with Ilium to offer an XML-based import/export (FlexWallet does), but they didn't seem interested in it.

We do hope to add XML export and import to eWallet at some point. But we never pre-announce features or even plans - things just change too quickly.

We have an early version of an import tool available now that should help people convert info from FlexWallet or other wallet programs. Get information about it (and a copy) from our site at:

http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/ew/ewi_main.htm

Thanks for all the nice words!

I got excited and created an xml file from Flexwallet but I keep getting errors. It tells you useful things like error in line 559. That's great but where is line 559 ? 8O
I guess that's one way to maintain customers....don't let them export easily and don't give 'em too much info because they just might abandon your product.

Are the errors in the FlexWallet export, or the eWallet import?
