Default Connecting Your Mobile Users To Windows SBS 2003

http://www.only4gurus.com/v2/preview.asp?ID=6412

If you have a Windows Small Business Server 2003 in your organization, this article may help you get your mobile users connected to it. It is a 485KB Word document.

"This paper shows you how to plan and deploy solutions for mobile and remote users so that users can access your server running the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 operating system while they are away from the office, using a variety of devices that include a remote laptop or computer; a Smartphone running the Windows Mobile software; a device running the Microsoft Pocket PC, Phone Edition, software; or a similar mobile device."

Ed, thanks. I've posted a link to a SBS group that I belong to.

This will be a nice bit of information to have on hand.

It's integration with mobile devices is the only reason why I'm getting SBS 2003. The things you can do with mobile devices is SUPER.

Synchronizing your e-mail via WiFi and an SBS 2003 server works amazingly fast. I totally love it.

Too bad NetWare doesn't have a small office solution like this.

I put the link up on the SBS 2003 and Pocket PC news groups.

I haven't had a chance to read this yet, but I am going to tonight. I am curious to see if it points out a few fixes that are needed to get OMA working. I had to go find that information in a different Microsoft document.

I've had some difficulties in getting mine set up. for those that did get it set up using the disable cert check program because your certificate is not valid, you can instead install the certificate manually.

This can easily be done by accessing your https site from PIE. when prompted you can view the certificate that provides a button to "install certificate"

We now use a third-party server solution for our Pocket PC's. It allows the user to sync on their own, timed intervals or it can PUSH any change.
