C|NET Round-Up of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Devices & Video Reviews
"Microsoft's latest operating system for mobile devices, Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, is not an earth-shattering upgrade. But it does open the doors for developers to build next-generation PDAs and smart phones. Dell's hip to it, and Asus is onboard, as is HP, and devices are cropping up, starting with the Dell Axim X30 series and now the new HP iPaqs. And later this year, we expect to see the first true smart phone with the OS, the Motorola MPx220. Still, what's all the buzz about?"
C|NET has collected their Second Edition reviews together, so if you're looking for a good place to look at what's available on the market, take a peek at this Web page. Because, hey, HP sent them an hx4700 for review. ;-) Speaking of video reviews, I've decided that I'll do a video review of the Axim X30 - I've been using the X30 for over a month now, so I'm intimately familiar with the pros and cons of using the unit and I think a video review with performance benchmark graphics might be a cool way of presenting the unit. :-)

I would be really interested in the video review of the Dell Axim X30 - it is an affordable PDA that still looks good! All of the newer HP's lack their once beautiful design.
I like the speed of the X30, too bad it doesn't yet have a nice VGA screen.

Hmm, I wonder why the X30 and the 3715 are the only ones with scores? I'm interested in seeing what the Asus a730 gets. The 4700 is too big for my tastes, no matter how much it can do or how clear the screen is. I mean it's like the same size as the 4350, and that has a freaking keyboard built onto it.

Count me among the many people who are pissed about HP not offering second edition upgrades for 5550/5555 owners. This model is fully capable of running the new release of the OS, and was only released a year ago.
If HP is playing the game of holding back value to add incentive to upgrade to an otherwise mediocre new PDA release, they can count me among their lost customers.
Hopefully HP will catch a clue from the size of the petition on this:
