PocketUAE (Amiga Emulator) Beta Released
This is pretty cool -- someone has managed to release a port of UAE for the Pocket PC.
It's an early beta, and among other things, the keyboard support is weak -- but if you're an Amiga fanatic, you're nevertheless probably already downloading this. 8)

I used to be a huge Amiga Fan. Here is a pic from my apartment back in 1985. I was 18 years old back then.
There were a lot of computers in the room. Amiga 1000, Atari ST 1040, PC (286 based), and an Old Mac. There were alot of 8 bit consoles in the room also. C-64, Atari 800, IIc.
I have not tried the Amiga Emu on PPC but on Xbox it works great. There are some DVD released for the Xbox that are loaded with old Amiga apps and games. Deluxe Paint was a great app.

How is this at all W?BIC? It's no more that than an NES emulator, or Commodore emulator.
The guy who ported it is CeRiAl, by the way. He's porting like mad (this is his 4th released port, also done was Wolf3D, FreeSCI, and XRick, which are feature complete for the most part, besides Wolf) and currently out of a job, so if you know anyone, or can donate a few dollars, please do! He's a great asset to the community, especially gaming, there's usually something in my inbox from him :P
If anyone has trouble getting the emu to work, we've got a thread going here which has useful bits of info on how to get it started.

Because the Amiga had a ton of great games? Chaos Engine, Lemmings, the 3D Construction Sets, Thrust, Worms, Alien Breed 3D, and that's just what I know, never having one myself. For gamers, it's just as useful as PocketNester or GNUBoy, and I'm sure a few people will mess around with BASIC on it, and the such. For something that is really pointless, there sure have been tons of requests for it!

Well, it *is* a bit more complex.
I think the W?BIC factor is Amiga on your *Pocket PC*. Otherwise, Amiga on a Desktop would be enough for nostalgia.
I miss DirOpus.
