Crank Your Pocket PC Up To 11
"My vacation in Hawaii last week presented me with an opportunity to find what looked to be the perfect self-contained speaker system! I was browsing around a Japanese department store called Shirokiya in the Ala Moana Center Mall when I came across the treasure I've been seeking for so many years. It came in the form of the Sony SRS-T33BLUE Personal Speakers. This battery-powered speaker set is designed to be a portable, wide range speaker/amp system that you can use with a portable music device such as a MiniCD player, Walkman or Pocket PC."
This looks like a pretty cool way to listen to some groovy tunes on your Pocket PC. (Yes, I'm aware that I just used the term "groovy". I'm boss like that, apparently.) Check out the review to see how the little beast stacks up against the iPAQ speakers and another Sony unit that retails for twice the cost. What do you think? Would you be willing to lay some cash down for this?

It would be interesting to do a size/music quality comparison between these and the ImaSpeaker/OutLoud from TDK.

I'd like to see how it compares with the iPod speakers that you can pop your iPod into to have a slick looking portable boom box

I've been looking at a few of these in the past couple weeks and this one looks like a good buy. I mean for $30 they're not bad. It doesn't sound like much bass is achievable unless there was a bigger box anyway. One has to make sacrifices for portability.

I have the Creative TravelSound speakers. I use them for my desktop speakers (at work) and travelling with my portable DVD player, but they'd work perfectly well for a Pocket PC too.

They do cost a little more than the Sony speakers though: ~$70

I visit Shirokiya on a semi-regular basis (the store is only a block away from where I work) to take a look at what's the latest with Sony. Shirokiya always got the latest MD walkman and Clie stuff and gets a lot of Japan only electronic merchandise. Never thought I'd hear about the store on PPC Thoughts though!

I live hawaii and never visit Shirokiya unless I had to buy the $50 earbuds to replace my dead ones once a year. I'm going down there today with my 2210 and see this puuupy for myself.

I have the same speakers. They're a perfect match for my PocketPC, whether listening to music or watching movies. I'd tried some cheaper Sony speakers prior to purchasing the TravelSounds, and there's no comparison.

Hmm... I'll have to look up specs later to see which is smaller, these Sony or the TravelMate a previous poster mentioned. I'd like something like this, but I'd only bother if it's *small*.
