New HP iPAQs Appear On CDW
If you've been wondering what the price of the rumored upcoming iPAQs will be, this might be one strong suggestion: CDW is now listing the iPAQ rz1715, rx3415, rx3715, hx4705, and h6315 all with a "1-2 week" ship time. I don't know if this means anything concrete, but obviously things are happening behind the scenes.
Update: Pictures of the products are rapidly leaking onto the web. Here's one picture of the 4705 from Ace Photo & Digital; note the touchpad. 8O XScale.de has pictures of all the units as well.

$599 for the 6315. I assume that has to be an unlocked version not paired with any carrier. This just may give us Canadians a chance!

Well..... several with cameras.... that's a non-starter for me (I'm regularly in clients' offices where devices with digital cameras are banned)
No mention of VGA screens.... here's hoping that this is an oversight in the specs because that's a second strike for me (No reason to upgrade my current iPAQ without it).
YMMV
D.

Rumors suggest only the iPAQ 4705 will have a VGA screen.

Oooh, touchpad... at least we'll have entered the analogue age! (I mean, I'm not just moving up/down/left/right at full speed, but up/down/left/right a certain amount).
Not sure about the looks though...

I think that touchpad has potential. It's certainly unique.
It's good to see HP is creating new, innovative products. A cursor on the screen controled by a touchpad, while not for everyone, could be really cool!
I can't wait to see one in person and try it out!
And if these devices are really as close as that site suggests, it'll only be a matter of days before they start showing up on eBay.

I actually liked the design of the 2215, 1945, 4155, etc - much better. it's really disappointing to see the death of the original svelte design of the ipaq.
On a side note - why can't I access proportable.com to check on my asus a730 order? Is the site down? I'm a bit confused...

Well, that's indeed possible but along with the standard D-Pad directions, the specs also include "mouse like cursor" which means that there will be a visual pointer onscreen. That's a very interesting feature.
Along with that, lots of RAM and storage 128MB RAM, 64MB ROM (btw, 80MB non-volitile RAM), VGA and for those music lovers, a 5 band EQ (hopefully hardware, not software.) Note: I think the RAM/ROM specs are reversed on the site.
Lastly, for those who absolutely need a flip cover (You know who you are), one is provided.
It's a just about a all in one device you can get. I only question the touchpad's ability for gaming. That wouldn't completely sink it for me but I'll have to see how it performs. Also, I'd love to see consumer-IR in this too. Looking at the picture, there's a chance that the IR port is on the upper part, maybe in the upper left hand corner) I also have to applaud HPs efforts to keep the size down with all the included features. I have a Toshbia E550G and based on the measurements of the 4700, it's slightly longer and a tad wider. The thickness is identical. It's only .6 ounces heavier (that's a given for the inclusion of wifi and possible material differences.) It's a very managable size.
As for styling, I really like it. It's very modern, sleek and thinner than the past iPaqs up to the 5550. But I guess that's just personal taste.
I'm looking foward to this PDA to hit the stores (rumored to be July 27) as this may be the first iPaq that I would most likely own unless I feel that the new MDA III is a better PDA overall. I also don't count out the MPx though I'm sure that Moto won't release a CDMA version.
