Boost iPAQ 3000/5000 Series Battery Life
http://www.neodigits.com/
"NeuNeo is introducing its external battery wallets that incorporate battery, leather wallet and CompactFlash slot for selected iPAQ models. The product is ideal for power users and for iPAQ with dead internal batteries. The battery wallets are currenly available in three models: 1800mAh, 2800mAh and 3600mAH."
If I still had a need for my older iPAQ 3600, this might be a great solution as its internal battery is almost completely dead. :?

Ya, I would say this should have come out a few years ago, seeing as they are discontinuing all sleeve models.

I am soooo going to look into this.
I currenty use a nexian dual slot cf/battery sleeve, but it turns my 3650 into a brick. This looks like a great alternative.

Prices are comparable to PPCTechs replacement and afaict these upgrades are a lot easier for endusers to do themselves. Maybe my 3670 will get passed on to someone else after all!

Actually, they were out over a year ago as the HardCE PowerCases. (I added a link to HardCE to my Web site May 27, 2003. :-)) However, I don't know whether they were available in the U.S. or not, as the HardCE Web site said they were looking for distributors. Maybe NeoDigits is their distributor.
One thing I'm confused about is their claim to support "all iPAQ H3600/3700/3800/3900/5400/5500 Series". The 3600s and 3700s used the smaller serial connector and separate power port, while the remainder used the longer, combined serial/power port. The picture shows a 5550 in the case apparently without an adapter and the NeoDigits ordering page doesn't require specifying which model iPAQ you have. :?

Because it doesn't use the power port. It uses the long sleeve connection on the bottom and those were the same for the 3100-5500 series - that is why all sleeves worked with all devices with the exception of some bluetooth sleeves (go figure!)

For what it's worth, batteries for iPAQ models, together with a tool and instructions can be had from www.mdsbattery.com (in USA) or www.mdsbattery.co.uk (in UK). The batteries they supply are the exact same batteries as used by HP as far as I know.

Of course. It would have to use the sleeve connector to provide the CF support. Stupid me. ops:
I guess that's one more good reason to keep the sleeve connector. :-D

I've been looking for a nice wallet and this seems to foot the bill. Can anyone who owns this unit tell me how it looks/holds up? I'm looking for something that is professional, yet sturdy since I use my IPAQ every day. Is this that type of an item, or just a "your going to be on the road forever today" item?
Thanks.
