If your screen is out of alignment, you can use the 'File->Align Screen' menu item directly launch the built-in screen alignment." It also has a quick check tool to see if you have any dead or live pixels. Not bad, considering it's free -- and if you have an older Pocket PC whose digitizer may be acting up a little bit, you might want to check it out. (Incidentally, the author has quite a few different free Pocket PC tools that you might want to check out as well. :way to go

My old Jornada 568 for example logs stylus clicks in the centre-lower portion of the screen as about 1cm higher than they really are. Could be done simply by intercepting stylus input and applying a simple warp transformation (matrices and all that). Could be calibrated by the user clicking on around 8x12 (grid) points dotted around the screen, with the software logging the true position and receieved position. A transformation would then be easy. Problems: - Intercepting the stylus might be dodgy... - Speed might be a problem... - Resolution might be troublesome... - It might not work. Still, if anyone wants to make some cash, go program it There are many users out there who don't want to pay �100 for a new digitizer (that's a real quote that HP gave me!)

It will also tell you whether or not the system is detecting your stylus tap as directly on the point of contact, or whether it's slightly above/lower, etc.

That's the whole point of making this app. The built-in one can only do the screen alignment, but it doesn't check if your screen is calibrated correctly.

'Cause i'd been using one of this kinda tools when I was using a Palm. But there was no similar tool available for PPC yet, so I just made one for this purpose.

I've had three Jornada 568s with this problem. Two of them made the device unusable. I got two replaced under warranty. The third one I fixed by purchasing a dead Jornada from a friend and fixing it. I sold the one with the bad digitizer to someone for parts.
