FlexWallet 2005 Released - Woo Hoo!
"The FlexWallet product was initially released in December 2002 and there have been no major upgrades since then...FlexWallet 2005 is a complete rewrite of the original application, and is designed from the ground up to significantly improve performance, take advantage of new features on the latest Pocket PC devices, and enhance nearly every feature of the product for better usability and flexibility...Here are some of the main reasons for this upgrade..."
I've been waiting for this day for a very long time: FlexWallet 2005 is out! I'm really excited about this release and had a chance to play with the beta a few days ago. I haven't used it much yet, but my initial impressions are mostly positive. The new icons are very well done, resulting in a much more polished overall experience. I use the desktop client at least 20 times a day (no exaggeration), and they seem to have fixed most of the UI glitches that were constantly frustrating me. Excellent! There are a whole whack of improvements including everything from high-resolution VGA support to enhanced speed on opening large FlexWallet files. My FlexWallet file has 225 cards in it and with the old version it took a good eight seconds for it to open. Now it takes about three - still about two seconds longer than I'd like, but a big improvement over the previous version.
They're offering 75% the normal price of $24.99 for previous owners, so that's a fantastic deal - everyone should upgrade if they're using this app, the improvements are definitely worth $7.

I've also been waiting for this for awhile, and it was worth the wait (FW 2005 is that good).
The three best new featurs (IMO):
1) unrestricted template editing (even on templates that are already being used).
2) unlimited subfolders (previously there were no subfolders)
3) ability to run on MS Smartphone (sorry, I know this is the PPC site ops: )
The only way they could have made it better is record level syncronization, but this upgrade is definetely worthy.

Any thoughts on FlexWallet itself?
It looks rather good and it's about time I stopped using Outlook to store passwords. ops:

I really like Flexwallet. I was an old-time user of eWallet but lost it when I upgraded from my Ipaq to my Axim. Shortly after, I bought Flexwallet on special for $4.95. What a steal. The program is worth the $25 IMHO. Like Jason, I use the Desktop program daily and the PPC version often.
I am really looking forward to purchasing the upgrade. Unfortunately, I am waiting for Handango to send me a new $5 off promo code from their survey (as certain people posted the code on the net invalidating it for those that took the survey). As soon as they get that resolved, I am all over this upgrade. Hopefully, will be able to post some thoughts on it soon.

Of course, does the desktop version have a real sync utiliy or it's only a file ?
I currently have CodeWallet and I hate when I sync and it ask which of the desktop or the mobile version I should keep... I use that kind of software to stop using my brain, so I don't remember where I've made changes, if i've made changes... :?:

How strong is the encryption though? Is it unskilled-user strong, scriptkiddy-strong, industrial-strong or kgb-strong? 0X

Just remove "to store passwords" and you'll be right on the money.

Seriously, the UI looks GREAT. I think it's about time to switch from eWallet...

Here here! I'm very excited about those features as well, ESPECIALLY the forthcoming Smartphone version!

It's only a file. None of the digital wallet apps support record-level synchronization, which tells me it's mother-hard to implement it.
