Default GSPlayer 2.0 Released

http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/

There's a couple of well-received free music players for Pocket PC -- and this one has just received a 2.0 release.

GSPlayer has a spartan interface, but it has a reasonable featureset: MP3/Ogg/WAV playback, Shoutcast support, equalizer/surround/bass effects, skin support, hardware button mapping, noiseless playback, and even a sleep timer. It supports all three versions of the Pocket PC OS. If you aren't happy with your existing players, you might want to give this program a spin.

While the 2.0 designation implies a major update there is only a minor change added from the previous version. Apparently this change only affects the echo/reverb option.

Thanks for the heads-up. Even though it's a minor change, it's worth posting on every now and then...

It works brilliantly for shoutcast streams - the quality is excellent. The http://www.shoutcast.com/ site is a bit unfriendly to pocket IE when searching for radio stations (lots of scrollbar fun), so what we need is a pocket version of the list of stations... anyone know of any? I guess I could make one if there isn't one already and there's enough interest!

What I really want is a media player that has "seek to position" capabilities. I typically record radio-show broadcasts that are several hours long, and any scrollbar-based system just isn't practical when that bar is representing that amount of time. Skipping commercials becomes a chore, since the minimum movement of the scrollbar means several dozen seconds, if not more.

Does anyone know of a good media player for PocketPC that supports a "seek to position" function?

Pocket Player 2.5 has "seek to marker" which I believe will do want you want.
