Default Get That Party Started - From Your Pocket PC

http://www.ehomeupgrade.com/archives/000367.php

"Do you own a Windows XP Media Center PC and a Wi-Fi enabled Pocket PC? If yes, put your Pocket PC to work as wireless Media Center remote with Rudeo Control for Windows XP Media Center Edition. This unique Pocket PC software application (one of the best we have seen to date) lets users remotely browse, manage, and access digital media stored on a Media Center PC through an intuitive user-interface. It's also the perfect tool for mobile DJing your next house party."

Kudos to Rudeo for a very nice interface for this application! The feature set isn't too shabby, either. You can download a trial version, or purchase the full version for $29.95. While this particular application is meant to work with an XP Media Center PC, there is a version available for Windows Media Player 9. Please note that you'll need .NET Compact Framework SP1, which you can get from Microsoft.

The developer seems to be actively looking for ways to upgrade the product, which is always nice. There's a (rotating) poll on the product information page asking if they should support "Control for other media servers or players" and "Encode media on PC for streaming to PPC". 8) Does anyone use this, or does the feature set look compelling enough to try it out? I have to admit that I'm a bit intrigued by the "Live TV" button and the Radio tab...[Affiliate]

It looks very cool... however, I wish it would support other media centers such as Beyond TV / Media, or some of the new Linux media centers.. It definitely has a lot of promise!

The WMP version works flawlessly. Very quick response too. I may have to get this one after I subscribe to PPCT for the 15% Handango discount.
