AndyRenamer 0.4.1 for WM2003/PPC2002
Being able to batch-rename files on my desktop computer is something is something I take for granted because there are many programs to help me to it, but on the Pocket PC we haven't had a solution until now. This is a simple, but potentially very useful program if you've ever found yourself renaming multiple files by hand. And it's freeware - nice to see!

I could really use this... but it doesn't support MIPS.
Just curious... What do you use on the desktop for batch renaming? I'm currently using Oscar's Renamer, but it's not a very good program, and I'd like to replace it with something better.
I love the licence!

Yeah, it's based on .NET CF, so a 1st generation Pocket PC is out of the question.

Well, the only time I really need to rename files is when I'm working with photos. I rename them to "Birthday Party - 005.jpg", etc. For that ACDSEE works very well.

I remember having a copy of an (older) version of that program from a hardware CD and really liking it as a photo viewer. I've never been able to find itI'm still looking for a good (freeI don't think that you should have to pay for something so basic) picture viewer. I realize that ACDSEE is commercial software and does photo organizing now, so it's probably not what I need. I've also tried IrfanView, and found the interface to be atrocious, though the program is quite fast. Anybody have any suggestions?

I use the Bulk Rename Utility at http://www.jimwillsher.co.uk/Site/So.../BRU_Intro.php for renaming. It's great. And Donationware.
Just one hint: If you are intimidated by all the options, you are probably just looking at the "Replace (3)" feature.
