Warring Nations: Medieval Heroes
Strategy game fans take note! PDArcade has posted a review of Warring Nations: Medieval Heroes. "This game at its simplest level is a strategy game, based on the board game "Risk". Above that simplicity, as you will come to see through reading this preview, is a beautiful, yet repulsively difficult, game of strategic conquest.
Regardless of the difficulty level, the basic aim is always the same- to try and take over the landscape completely, to wash paint over the area in the colour of your team, to vanquish all opponents- and to basically, conquer everything. Like with all those other map based strategy games, the area, which you must take over, has been divided into provinces, which must individually be taken over.
Overall, the gameplay is very similar to many of the other strategy games, however, the developer certainly has left a lot of room for the game's gameplay to evolve bigger and better over time. I look forward to seeing these updates, as they will build upon an already good game, probably making Warring nations a great game for the Pocket PC."
This game looks like a hybrid between "Centurion", "Civilization" and "Castles". The landscape mode is a nice touch, and the graphics look great! The game is also reasonably priced at $12.75 through Handango. [Affiliate] What do you think? Worth a look?

I purchased this game over the weekend and it has quickly become one of my favorite games on my ppc, and I unfortunately have too many.
This graphic are fairly good, but the game play itself just awesome. If you like turn based strategy games of course. If you like games like PocketWar then check this game out. The only feature that I have found that would have been nice to have was the ability to save multiple games. I have asked the developer about this and will post if I hear anything on it.
They have a free trial of the game so you don't have anything to lose.

I played this a while ago when it first came out in beta, and I thought it was a very fun, addictive game then, even with the beta flaws. I can't wait to get my hands on it now.

It's a bit like Civilization. I haven't played that in a LONG time but it does feel like it. Much less overall movement than Civilation. In Civ, you can move around multiple units to discover new things. In this game, you only really move when you want to redistribute troops or attack another country.
I'm working on a review of this right now. I just need to get better at the game before I write it. I keep getting trounced while playing at the "Normal" setting.

CivII was a great game. The only drawback was that turns took forever towards the end of the game...and you had to keep telling the hundreds of workers to build railroads, irrigate...etc, etc.

Ahh Centurion - now you really are bringing back some memories! Memories of many many hours lost trying to conquer the ancient world of the Mediterranean.

From the graphics, this REALLY looks like CastlesII to me. Which was a very fun game, btw. But I never had time to really see a game through. It was on the demo PC at a software store I worked at back in high school, so I played a little when there weren't any customers.
