Default Vaja HP Ipaq 22XX I-Volution Aptus Case Reviewed

http://www.tekguru.co.uk/phpBB2/ind...hp?article=2268

The lads at TekGuru found out the other day just how tough it could be to be a hardware reviewer: "When the opportunity came for me to review a vaja case, I leaped at the chance. Especially since my current case is hp's bundled free one! I've had the case now, just over a week, so, Having dreamed about owning a vaja case for a long time, does the reality match the dream?" Ahhh, reviewing a case from one of the finest purveyors of such specialist leather goods. Hard life eh!

Vaja case Ate my Ipaq

Their review is pretty comprehensive, from the mandatory photos of the case in various poses, to the grand opening: "And finally, the case itself. The box had protected it perfectly and it was sat there fine. As soon as you open the box, you can smell the quality of the leather. My breath was taken away by how good the case looked. The little green item to the left is a card with leather care information. The orange underneath is a catalogue with info about vajas way of doing things and photos of other cases." From what I've read of these Vajas, they definitely seem to be a veritable feast for all senses. I wonder what they taste like?

"Am I happy with the case? Most certainly yes! This case truly is a work of art. The quality of material used, as well as the design of the product is astounding. I'm never going back to bundled cases again! It's hard enough to protect against knocks and feel robust, looks fantastic and doesn't take away from how beautiful your ipaq is as well! It simply adds to it. I'm converted, I've gone from someone who's never bought a 3rd party case before (true! even my palm case was the official one!) to a vaja converter." So, a reasonably priced work of art for the common man. What more could you ask for? Well you could aquire one Here if you are so inclined.

I have the classic case for my iPaq2215 and it cost about $50.

But I love this i-Volution style case so much that I'm willing to plop down that amount again for yet another case... but $110! 8O

Truly a lap of luxury that I just can't afford now.

Ah! But if you are registered with PocketPCThoughts you get a $20 discount on a Vaja case! Got my Aptus case for a great price - thanks to Jason & Co!

I picked up one of the cases 2 weeks old used for about $80 shipped. I have been very happy with the case. Mine is light tan in color. I'm a little concerned that the color may wear off over time. I am constantly taking it in on out of my pocket....time will tell.

Has anyone here with an older I-volution case (like for a 3800 iPaq or something) run into problems with the color wearing off?

I've had three iVolution Black cases - iPaq 3870, XDA and now iPaq 2210. The 3870 is still in use at work by one of my coleagues and there has been absolutely no problem at all in respect of colour wear. Even minor surface scratches rub out with a light buffing. I can imagine the 'designer' light colour finishes being more subject to wear and tear.

The only problem I have with the case is that there is no opening to access the reset button on the back of the iPaq. Anyone know of a way to make a nice small hole? I'm thinking about taking the case to a shoe repair shop to see if someone can punch a small hole in the case.

I don't think it has been unclear to anyone that I'm very happy with this case.

I worked around this by using WisbarAdvance and defining a custom button to do the reset. There are other programs which do it too.
