MaximumPDA Reviews The Asus MyPal A620BT
If you're dying to know all about the latest Pocket PC from Asus, the MyPal A620BT, Bill Landon at MaximumPDA has put together an article just for you.
"The world is full of PocketPC choices. Todays users have to choose from over 20 different models and that is only in the U.S. In the rest of the world, especially Asia, the choices are even greater. One company that I have been impressed with, ever since I saw their first PocketPC in Taiwan a couple of years ago, is Asus...Asus has been making PDAs for many years, but has only recently brought their PocketPC products to the U.S. So it is not surprising that very few U.S. PDA users have heard of or seen this product. What will surprise most users is the fact that this is one of the best quality and highest performance PocketPCs on the market."
I've never owned or even held an Asus Pocket PC, but I have to admit that since they aren't very common in this part of the world, I had kind of ignored them. After reading this review, though, I realize that there's a lot to like about the Asus A620BT, including the ability to play video at a blistering 60 frames per second! Give Bill's review a read and let me know what you think...Is an Asus in your future?

There will likely be an ASUS PPC in my near future, but most probably the A730BTWiFiIrDACFIISDUSB 8)

I've been impressed with my A620BT since I got it last October. It's THE gaming Pocket PC since nothing else can provide the kind of speed it delivers. Plus it has an excellent screen.
If you want to play Playstation games with FPSCE, it's the only device that can run many of them at full speed. It also helps to grab a 4GB Hitachi microdrive from a Creative Nomad MuVo2 and then run an overclocking utility to push the A620BT to 472 or 535MHz.

Have you seen the side by side pictures of the A730 against the Toshiba E805?

Looks good... although it would be nice to have two backs. One with the camera hole and one without. I work in an industry where my customers don't allow cameras in their factories and it would be nice to clip on the full back when visiting them...

Well, Maybe someone will make a removable back cover to hide the camera so no one will get nervous. Or, just keep it in it's case. Do folks ask you to take out your device and examine it?
my industry isn't as FYEO as yours, so I have no idea.

If I were in the market right now to buy a new PPC and couldn't wait a few months until WM2003SE comes out, this would be my choice. From everything I've read about this unit, it blows all other current devices out of the water as far as performance goes and has awesome specs ta' boot. Looks like the perfect gaming/multimedia machine!

Thanks for the link... I have been considering the e800, so those pics are very interesting. I also got a good laugh out of the "Next Story" link at the bottom (thinking it was the next page or something).
This is a VERY impressive looking device. I love the larger screen, the increased resolution and the ability to play 60fps video. Not that I would want to play 60fps video, but if it can play at that high of a framerate, it should have no problems with fullscreen video at 30fps and OGG encoded stereo sound. Awesome!

I'm not sure that's how it's supposed to be read. I take it to mean that when coding a movie, you can use 60 fps instead of the usual 20-25 fps, which would give it a much more realistic playback (less jerky, etc.).
