Safest way to do it (you don't have to deal with a bad connection, because you are doing it directly from the phone.)
I'm writing these by memory, when I go home I'll update this correctly
Install the upgrade without connecting your PPCPE. run the program it will tell you that you don't have the PPC connected. Cancel all that
then go to
Xda-developers and download and install the Xdatools.
Have a SD card reader handy and a SD card with more than 64MB
look in the C:\Program Files\Pocket PC Ugrade Utility (or something like that)and look there in the \english directory a NK.nbf (or .nb1) file. right click on it and select burn to SD card, (of course make sure that you have your sd card reader with the card connected to the pc).
wait until you do the magic. and then remove the SD card from the reader
then to upgrade your Radio Stack, go in the same folder, and look for these 4 files:
- monitor_ul_bs.m0
monitor_ul_bs.map
RSUpgrade.exe
RSUpgrade.cp64
Connect your Pocket PC and copy them into your Pocket PC \Windows Directory.
when your done, disconnect it from your desktop and browse with your Pocket Explorer (in your Pocket PC) and run RSUpgrade.exe. Wait until the machine does its magic. and after its done. you can insert the SD card that has the burned ROM
Access the bootloader mode (soft reset holding the power button). The machine will recognize that you have a ROM in your flash and it will ask you to proceed, you answer yes. Wait until it does its magic. And it will ask you at the end to hard reset. (of course you will loose all data, so back up, and have the phone fully charge before doing all this).
that's it, you are done. This is the safest way since you don't have to deal with the Activesync connection of the computer and mess up your Pocket Pc Phone. I hope it helps!
