Default Rumour: Motorola MPx to Sell for 749 Euro/$920 USD

http://www.mtekk.com.au/browse/page665.html

"Following on from our previous story of the specifications for Motorola's forthcoming MPx and MPx100, pricing has now been announced for the Windows Mobile 2003 based devices. The MPx Pocket PC Phone will retail for 749 euro - approximately USD$920, or AUD$1240, not accounting for typical variations in price between countries - while the MPx100 Smartphone will sell for 469 euro - about AUD$780 or USD$575."

There's a brief story at MTekk that cites a supposed price for the Motorola MPx - there's no indication of the source, so treat this as a rumour for now. $920 USD equivalent is expensive, but then again, this is a bleeding-edge device, and I'm sure Motorola doesn't bank on selling that many of them. Still no firm price from Tek 'n Toys, but hopefully they'll come in a bit lower than $920 USD...

Thats about 500, presumably without contract. Which would make it about 300 on contract, which is less than I paid for my XDA 2.

So.. bring it on...

Choke Choke 8O
Well, as mentioned, I hope the real subsidized cost is much lower.
Here's hoping for Amazon rebates...

I'm thinking damage / loss insurance on those might be the way to go. Even with a $100 deductible..... it would probably be worth it.

Keep in mind that this is unsubsidized, folks. It's probably going to be more like $500 if you get it through a carrier.

$900+ is still too tough to swallow. Now that laptops are starting to integrate cell phone technology there is not that much separating the two. I think a lot of consumers just don't have that kind of cash...I guess I'll be waiting for another generation of improvements until the cost is something I can afford.
