Default Vaja's SD Keeper - Just So Darn Cute!

http://www.vajacases.com/affiliate&ID=100

Vaja sent it one of their SD Keeper cases today, and I have to admit I didn't know what to expect - I'm a visual person, so even when I see measurements, they don't really give me an idea of how small something really is. So when the case showed up today and I saw how small the package was, it dawned on me just how small this case really is. I've taken a series of photos to demonstrate the size:

The SD holders are spring-loaded, similar to other Vaja cases, and when inserted they sit securely, but are easy to get at with a quick push.

The case itself is, of course, exquisitely made. It has a magnetic closing mechanism, and the fit is perfect. The black leather is flawless, and stretched very tightly over the shell.

Base price for the case is $29 USD, but like most Vaja cases, you can customize the SD Keeper and get some pretty funky-looking cases:

Like all things Vaja, this is more than a case - it's a fashion statement and personal expression. Some people will be perfectly happy buying a $10 velcro-based SD card carrier from a local camera store, but if you want to carry your SD cards in style, the Vaja SD Keeper is in a class unto itself. This is certainly not useless as there are those who carry multiple SD cards and would like to keep their cards securely within a case for protection and storage.

If you mean overpriced, then you just don't know much about Vaja... they're the "Lexus" brand for mobile electronic cases.

If I wanted a case for SD cards, it would need to hold at least 6-10 of them. Otherwise, it is almost as small and easy to lose.

I like SD because they are small.

I can only see my wife carrying this in her purse.

I'd buy one. At the moment, I can only carry 3 SD cards with me - one in the 4150, and two in my Vaja case.

If they're not butch enough for you, you can always glue some spikes to them.

Default magnetic catch?

How about a magnetic catch on something to hold media? Isn't that an invitation to disaster?

Not sure if carrying around 6-10 SD cards would be that normal... as for this case being easy to lose, that assumes that we want a case just to prevent us from losing the cards. I don't know of too many cases that serve that purpose.

I see this functionally as a storage and protection mechanism. If you start getting into cases large enough not to lose, then either it assumes 1) the person has a lot of cards to store or 2) the person doesn't care about the additional bulk. Both assumptions I think are false more often than not. I know storage card cases have been extremely popular in Japan for some time and even there, each case I see typically carries about 2-3 cards.

I'd have to disagree. I have purchased storage cases for each type of removable media I own and find them very handy. They're extremely popular in Japan where removable media is used far more often than most other places in the world (this is actually where I've bought the majority of mine).

Now granted, I've spent about 10-20% of what's being asked by Vaja, but none of them are as flashy as Vaja's either.
