Default Mitac's Mio 168 (With GPS) Reviewed

http://www.pdabuyersguide.com/mitac_mio_168.htm

"Palm OS users who wanted an integrated GPS had their prayers answered by the Garmin iQUE 3600 in 2003. Pocket PC users now have the Mitac Mio 168, introduced March 2004, as their all-in-one solution. Mitac has been selling the Mio line of Pocket PCs and MS Smartphones in Asia, and we could only admire those devices from a distance here in the US. The Mio 168 is Mitac's first venture in the US market, and it should be a hit. It features a bright and colorful display, a very loud speaker (great when using it as a GPS in the car) and a compact design."

PDA Buyer's Guide has the first full review I've seen of the Mio 168, including screenshots of the bundled GPS application. It looks like a great solution for those of you who are heavy GPS users.

Not bad, not bad at all. My only complaint would be the non-replacable battery. Other than that, if you want a small ppc with sdio option, this is pretty cool. I would have really liked to see them make it somewhat rugged  Maybe I'm just biased towards rugged stuff though.[/list]

Default I'm glad or not?

:?:

Well, I'm awaiting integration of GPS into PPC. Long time.

I'm confused of the battery life time. Only 3h for PPC?
So when I will climbing or off-road I will not take all my time positions with this device. Well... maybe I will do if I will take some new "solar shirt".

I'm only affraid, this is the way to put the old SIRF chipsets to the market.
You can get PPC+GPS with your position located +/- 100 meters or even worse => poor.

The newest gives you better then 10 meters. I like.

It's just rebranded Destinator 3 software, and you'll find many screenshots in this excellent review.
