Default Dual Windows With Seymour 1.5

http://www.jarosoft.com/seymour.html

"Seymour is an innovative application that allows a user to work better with their Pocket PC. By giving the user the ability to view two applications at one time, the user can easily exchange information between them with less taps of the pen. They can also "see more" at one time because two applications are visible in scrollable views rather than one."

It works on Pocket PC 2000, 2002 and 2003 devices. It is a free upgrade for all previous Seymour owners, or you can buy it for $15.95 (Affiliate link)

The site has in the "other enhancements" section that it has "more VGA support." Seems that it has had some VGA support for some time.

Does anyone know if this means you can have 4 240x320 screens open at once? Contacts, Calendar, Email and Web open at once???? 8)

There were two releases in quick succession (I think) which may be where the 'more' comes from. Certianly the version I tried a couple of weeks ago crashed the e800 - and there were refs on Brighthand to the same issue (along with mention from the author that he was working on it).

Good day -

Seymour v1.5.x runs on the Toshiba e800 now. I think the problem was for all Windows Mobile devices, not just the e800, but no matter. It's fixed now. Feel free to give it a try and let me know if you have any problems.

As for four windows, we only support two right now but we will look into possibly supporting four windows for larger resolutions. No promises obviously, but if we can pull it off we will give it a shot.

Please note that v1.5.1 is now the latest version.

Enjoy!

I don't need two windows with different applications so much (plenty of task switchers out there), but if Seymour could open two instances of the same application, I'd pay twice that much!

Hi there -

That's up to the developers of the application in question --- to allow two instances of the same thing. Which apps would you want to see do this?

In the meanime, please download the application and give it shot because it is not a task switcher --- it is designed to save you taps, which I know most folks cherish.

Thanks for the feedback,

That is pretty neat, I have a linux window manager that does that (it is called ion) so it is cool to see similar functionality on the handheld.

Being able to open PIE twice would be killerX.

Make it happen my good man.
