I have a HP Jornada 568 and a Microsoft 802.11b/WiFi wireless Base station model # MN-500. Will this work with my pocket pc and exsiting network set up, or do I need a D-Link router for this to work?
Thank You

Jason you should qualify this for your Canadian and International customers as the rebate only applies to American Residence... I saw a similar offer form Mobile Planet in October and had to pass on it...

Yep, was just going to say, Nevermind it's only valid for US customers, looked like a smoking deal though.

Does anyone know if this is the type of card that you can turn off the WiFi while the card is still inserted?

Hey, a first generation Pocket PC compatible CompactFlash WiFi Card--I haven't seen one of these in a long time.
I remember when everyone was anxious for some type of CF WiFi solution to come out. Most of us were using pumped up iPAQs with 802.11b PC Cards. Those of us who were more desperate for a CF wireless solution turned toward Proxim's proprietary Harmony Wireless Network chipset.
Then the PCMCIA to CF Card Adapters were discovered and we were all one step closer to wireless with our CF slots.
Ahhh... the old days.

I have a 568 as well (actually I gave it to one of my kids) but it does work with any of the Type I CF cards such as this. I mix/match AP and routers with nic hardware all of the time. There should be no problem with this either. Too bad you are in Canada. Maybe a US friend can buy it for you and send it with the regular mail. It is small enough to probably include in standard postal letter mail (if you trust the handling of such.)

I have a 568 as well. This card is a Compact Flash Type II card. So, it won't work in the 568 unless you use a PC Card adapter or the CF II adapter. Only CF type I will work in the slot as is.

I had this adapter, and it worked fine with SMC and Netgear equipment. The good is that it works. The bad was that it's rather big and cuts into your battery life pretty hard. But I paid 80 bucks for mine used and was happy with it.
