Yes! These games are great. My kids will sit and play for hours, talk about a cheap babysitter! :wink:
I am definitely going to buy myself a copy of this one!

Sorry to be so naive, but I don't know much about these oriental games, HOWEVER I am *addicted* to a game which was included with the MS Entertainment PocketPak ( http://microsoft.handango.com/Platfo...492&catalog=30 )
The game in that pocketPak I'm addicted to is Tapei, which is a simple tile matching game. Problem is, Tapei (and that whole PocketPak) is *not* fully compatible with WM2003 (which I now run on my iPaq 5455).
SO, my question is, are any of the games included in this new offering similar or identical to Tapei? If so, which one of the three? If not, can anyone recomend another application that would include a game similar or identical to Tapei?
Also, it looks like this game is only played in landscape mode.....is that true? If so, is that good or bad?

It says there are over 50 board layouts. I bet one of them would closely match Taipei. When I get home, I'm going to download it and give it a try. I'll let you know what I find out!
BTW, here is a game that works on my 2215. You could try that one, it's a great Taipei clone.

Thanks for the reply. It indicates there are three games and 50 board layouts. What is the difference between a game and a board layout, with respect to these oriental tile games? I look forward to your trial of it.

Have you looked at this one from Four Winds Mah Jong? I've never played "traditional" Mah jong, only the solitare type games.

The one called 'Mahjong' in the package is really 'Mahjong Solitaire', also called Tai Pei. We've named it Mahjong, (although it's not the real Mahjong game), because Tai Pei is a trademarked name and Mahjong Solitaire is pretty long.
There's a free demo version of the game on our web site, so you can try before you buy.
In the full version there's a over 120 layouts, many of which you can unlock by playing the Tournaments.

Thank you for this Paul. I have been playing the solitaire version on Mahjong for years and grew very tired of it as of late. This looks like it will be a breath of fresh air.
I have downloaded the Gamebox Asia trial version and the graphics are beautiful and the game seems to be well worth the money. But, although there are layouts I have never played before it is the still same solitaire versions that I have played over and over again. It is time for a change.
