Default Pocket PC Reviews...Reviews the AnexTEK Pocket PC Phone Edition SP230

http://www.pocketpcreviews.net/revi...004/anextek.htm

"A first look at the surprisingly handsome AnexTEK SP230 reveals a top-notch design that makes few compromises to either phone or PDA functions. If you are looking for an all-in-one device this unit might serve you well. It features a Tri-band phone with video transmission, GPRS as well as fairly standard PPC specs but with a generous 64 MB of user-accessible RAM. AnexTEK is a newcomer in the hotly contested arena of our mobile companions but theyve got a good many things right."

This is the first review I've seen of this phone, so go take a look!

What about WiFi. No WiFi, no sale. I am totally spoiled by my 4155.

If they had used a small display (say 2.5") the numeric keypad would be perfect as the device is small.... but if it is going to be big like any other Pocket PC, they should have added a full qwerty thumbboard (IMHO).

Ditto. I can't get into a device without WiFi... :?

Is this another one of those - "it will be for sale in asia or pacific rim (minus USA) only" devices?

I don't know if you saw the update on the Pricing & Availability paragraph which I posted late last night (Australia time) but it will be available worldwide. However, that mainly depends on AnexTEK getting distibutors in those places...

Well, it does support SDIO, and the cool thing is it has GPRS so if you just want to check your email and stuff, if you're on an all you can eat GPRS plan (like I am) it's more than adequate... But if you want more speed, just throw an SDIO wifi card in and use that.

I for one cant' wait for this one. I'm tired of lugging around two devices.

I am personally holding out for the iPaq 6300 series. I considered the XDA2, but I am partial to hp support via the NBD exchange program. It is the best warranty money can buy, in my opinion. Device stops working, make a call, and the next day the new one arrives with a return box. I am pretty hard on devices, so I need this. If the 6300 has WiFi, and I can unlock it, I am getting one.
