Default Geekzone Reviews Keep Track 2.1 Pro

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.a...?contentid=2074

I bet a lot of us Pocket PC users are in the same boat: somewhere down the line, we've all tried to manage our personal finances using our Pocket PCs. There sure are plenty of applications for doing so (just do a search for "financial" on any of the major Pocket PC software sites), but finding one that does just what you want it to can be pretty tough.

Geekzone has published a nice, detailed review of one of the better financial management products, Ilium Software's Keep Track 2.1 Professional.

I've used Keep Track before, to track my kids' allowance "accounts," and I like the Geekzone review. It does a great job explaining exactly what the software does and does not do, which is important because each of us has unique financial software needs. The Geekzone review has plenty of screenshots and descriptions to help you figure out if Ilium's most recent Keep Track version is right for you.

I have been using this product for over two years now. It is the best at what it does....which for me is simply keeping up with account transactions on the go......for later transfer over to Quicken/Money.

In the past I used to lose ATM receipts, forget how much I spent at Home Depot, etc.. but with Keep Trak, I just set up the one touch buttons...and I am always organized financially.

Whenever I have the unfortunate experience of having to do a hard reset.... this is one of the first apps that I reinstall.

Keep Track is a great application. WUGNET.com has it listed as one of their Shareware Picks of the Week; and I've used it for years.

Its synchronization method is the best I've ever seen. It will sync individual records with its desktop counterpart via an ActiveSync plug in. NO ONE else has this sophisticated a sync system...NO ONE, not even Landware's Pocket Quicken.

PQ does sync between destlop and PQ, but its AS plugin is nothing more than an On/Off switch for its own sync applet; and...AND it doesn't sync transactions as they are created or modified on the desktop as KT does.

Keep Track is very good at what it does; but is its a very BASIC finance manager. It could be so much more if Ilium software simply put some resources behind it and develops the feature sets they've had in the hopper for more than 4 years.

For some reason, they seem to feel that Keep Track just isn't as popular or valuable in the market place as eWallet, ListPro or Dockware Pro is.

I think they're wrong, and if they would just commit to some of the bigger feature requests they have (like graphing and seemless Quicken compatibility) they'd see the sales that would justify the development costs...

Kind Regards,
