Now that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, here's an application no Pocket PC lover's kitchen should be without: Wakefieldsoft's PDA Cookbook Plus!

"PDACookbook Plus is your complete recipe and cookbook software for Pocket PC or Windows Mobile handheld PDAs, including a PC companion software component. Carry your recipes, menu planner, and shopping list with you for fast and convenient reference. Search for recipes by title, ingredient, category and more!"

Other features include:

PC Companion Software for easy access to PDACookbook data on your desktop
Shopping List - Add items from any recipe to the shopping list.
Menu Planner - add recipes to the menu planner for specific dates. View recipes from the Menu Planner with one tap.
Nutrition - enter nutritional items and information for each recipe.
Smart Ingredient Paste - Copy ingredient text from a text recipe or the internet, and Smart Ingredient Paste will identify ingredients, quantities, and units and paste them in one step!
Servings/Ingredients Scaling - Automatically scale ingredient quantities by simply changing the number of servings.
Search - by title, category, ingredient, or other text in the instructions.
Import - Export Recipes - Import and export recipes from Meal-Master and MasterCook files with PDACookbook Plus!

You can download a free demo from Handango or buy the full version for only $19.99.

However, Wakefieldsoft is giving a free license of PDA Cookbook Plus to five particularly lucky Thoughts readers, so keep your fingers crossed and your rabbit's feet handy! We'll select the winners randomly in a few days from our list of all registered Thoughts readers. So PLEASE make sure you're registered!

I dunno about using my PPC in the kitchen... seems like a dangerous place for a pda.

Being from europe, I would rather go with Pocket Cook Deluxe for the same price.

As far as i can tell from the screenshots, featurelist and the pdf-manual, PDACookbook Plus can't convert from US to metric wich makes it 100% useless....

It's nice in theory, but I am so paranoid about destroying my PDAs that I dont think I could use one in the kitchen.. unless it was a PDA I had dedicated to coooking.. ohhh I think I have found an excuse for buying another PDA

Default Pick Me

Now, I don't want to whine...much.

But since there's probably only a few HUNDRED of us who would love to win this product...wouldn't it make more sense to have this contest eligible for people who really want it?

So, if anyone wins a copy and doesn't want it, feel free to toss it my way.

I have no problem using my PDA in the kitchen. We get along fine there!

Cheers,
Pam

I use mine for recipes now, just have them all in text files. This prog seems like a great addition to my pda.

Oooo I'd love to win too! I suppose I don't have to subscribe to enter this competition? I can't afford to subscribe yet... saving up! Absolutely adore cooking. Wonder if Jamie Oliver will ever have a pda cooking app too? 8)

Nope. Registered doesn't mean subscribed. All you have to hope is that you're one of the lucky ones.

Hmm. Being able to go straight from a recipe to a shopping list would be useful.
