Default Fujitsu Prototype PDA, With 4" SVGA Screen

http://neasia.nikkeibp.com/wcs/leaf...abt/news/275427

I've got one comment for this device:  It might not be practical, but I want one. The prototype itself seems to be more of a miniature Microsoft Smart Display-type device, but I'd presume one could put a full WinCE or similar solution in such a packaging.

"Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd announced that it built a prototype wireless LAN-capable compact personal digital assistant (PDA) featuring a 4-inch SVGA LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. It has 802.11b wireless LAN, Bluetooth and infrared communication capabilities so that it can access directly to a LAN or virtual private network (VPN) without using any communication tool. It enables users to access PCs inside the office or home from outside, and to use data remotely."

Tiny Tiny Tiny Tiny lettering!

- How come the PPC is increasing in resolution all of a sudden?

I mean, we have been stuck at 320x240 for ages - now we have 640x480 and potentially 800x600 devices round the corner. Not that I'm complaining!

Just dish em up pronto! 8)

I think this can be a tablet killer.

I read about Fujitsu being able to make that type of screen resolution months ago. I got the article from Loox.org I think. I am a big Fujitsu fan :rock on dude!:
This device should be interesting and so should the price.

Probably because it is a Fujitsu Asia Pacific project.

Well strictly speaking it isn't a PPC - which is a shame - and we have had WinCE palmtops with VGA and SVGA resolutions already.

I'd be willing to bet that this doesn't make it outside the SE Asian market...

That is a thought, or if/when it does make it to the U.S. it will be old by then.

Don't MS Smart Displays use a shell of windows CE to run?
