AHHHH!! There are already so many Bluetooth GPS units out there and now one more!?
Haha, so far in my hunt for a BT GPS, it looks like this one's caught my eye. The 16 hours is nice, interchangable battery is a definate plus, and the ability to have 5 PDS connected to it is kinda amusing ...
It'd be interesting to see how this unit performs out in the wild under the tress and stuff, but I think the next time my dad heads back to Taiwan, I'm gonna get him to pick it up for me.
Great review Jason!

I've been thinking about getting a GPS to go with my 5555. didn't want to get a bluetooth one because they're so expensive. but am i reading this right? $190 USD?! does that sound like a deal to anyone else? maybe i just haven't been keeping up...
my other plan would be for a serial gps, but those are $150ish with cables and everything anyways, and i'd be a lot happier with a bluetooth offering

As a newbie to GPS, I question the following:
-it doesn't seem as though this thing comes with software? How much does this add to the cost?
-I have Microsoft Streets and Trips 2004, has anybody tried using GPS with this software? It seems to have GPS functionality, but a quick browse around the GPS Passion website suggests that it isn't really considered.
I was considering the HP BT GPS unit to complement by HP 1945, but this unit seems to be quite a bit cheaper...

Good software, like Routis or Mapopolis, will run you about $100. Having used S&T, there isn't really a comparison. If you want to know where you are on a map, it's fine, but if you want to go somewhere, you'll need navigation software.
Both programs have voice prompts, automatic re-routing when you go off course, Points of Interest, and lots of other goodies.
I have Routis and use it daily. 8)
