Default Don't Let Your Toys Slip From Your Grip

http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=503

I've always had a real penchant for leather cases for my Pocket PCs, but I also carry and use my devices without any kind of case about half the time I'm away from my desk. The problem with that is, though, that the combination of their smooth finish and my clumsy hands results in my dropping my beloved Pocket PCs left and right.

The MobilebBurn Web site has a great, detailed review of a new product, called "egrips," that I think is just the solution to my problem. Egrips are custom-fit, textured labels that you stick onto your device, making them much easier to hang onto. The labels come in a variety of colors and textures and are made to fit Pocket PCs, mobile phones, CD players and just about any kind of mobile toy you can think of. They cost around $9.95, depending on the specific model.

I'm going to order a set right away, but if you want to find out if this is the answer to YOUR butterfingers, make sure you read the entire MobileBurn review.

Saw this on The Gadgeteer about a month and 1/2 ago.

For another review: http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/egrips-review.html

One quote from the reviewer (who is a guest reviewer, but nonetheless has nothing but good comments to say about this product):

"I would like to state on record that the Egrips product is probably one of the most useful items I have ever purchased for my Palm PDA, and now consider it an essential add-on to my PDA accessories right alongside a custom stylus and a hard case.

Highly, highly recommended."

Could these replace the rubber side grips on the 2210?

I'm not sure that would work. Egrips are thin, adhesive strips that attach to the surface of the device. The side grips on the 2215 are quite a bit thicker.

But, what if egrips are put on the grips before they get damaged?

Yeah, but isnt the problem that they fall off - not that they get damaged? Unless the egrips will sick the standard grips on better (like scotch tape - or whatever its called - it changes from one country to another), the side grips will still fall off. It would be nice to be able to replace the factory grips with the egrips

Unless the egrips could somehow prevent all the dirt and oil from people's hands from entering the grips in the first place. That may be something they want to think about - something to prevent the 221x series grips from getting all gunky in the first place, kinda like Saran wrap.
