Default cLaunch For The Pocket PC

http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~welic/claunch.html

The author has taken the source code from the popular tdLaunch program and modified it, giving it a new name - cLaunch.

The program is very customizable. If you are looking for an advanced launcher that supports multiple pages or just like the big icons, you should give cLaunch a try. It is free and requires Pocket PC 2002 and higher.

Looks a lot like the old Launcher program for Palm software. I always thought that was great for the Palm users (of which I am formerly one) because their icons structure wasn't very friendly.

I used Launcher all the time and wouldn't enjoy a Palm without it. This program looks like that same concept..... organized by tabs for easy viewing/launching.

I'll post back after I give it a try.....

Default Very nice!

This is a very nice Today plug-in.

I was thinking of doing the same thing (take the tdLaunch source and run with it), but was going to make a heirarchical icon tree rather than the tabs. Each icon could be a link to another sub-menu. An automatic UP/HOME icon would be added to any child sub-menus...

But, as this does 99% of what I wanted I think I'll stick with this version for now.

Regards,

Default cLaunch for Pocket PC

Anybody know if this works with Pocket Facelift? I've had a lot of trouble with programs that want to take over the Pocket Facelift Taskbar.

Can you set the icons to be smaller in preferences? I don't like things taking up a lot of real estate on the today page, but I really like the tabs.

Way down in the release notes at version 1.03 he has Make the icons size adjustable so I presume that is part of the settings somewhere.

Yes, they are scalable in a per-pixel setting. I halved them in each dimension from 32x32 to 16x16 and it now looks like the other launchers I have had. I like it and it will likely become a permanent part of my Today screen.

personally, i really do not see the need for several rows of program icons on the today screen. i have my most used programs in one row in Pocket Plus with programs i use less frequently on the start menu or in Gigatask used in iTask mode. the rare program i use that is not in one of these areas ends up in the mru area at the top of the start menu so as to keep my today screen clutter to a minimum. i currently have ~30 icons in these areas with only ~six on the today screen. that's my opinion, however, ymmv. i used to have my today screen loaded with icons but things got too cluttered and confusing.
