hmmm...
Looks excellent at first especially wrt speed, and the fact that it is a CDMA phone, however it has no BT, no Wi-Fi, no CF, no camera. No point? I don't understand why they come up with a kick-ass device like this one but then be lame by not adding the basic features that everyone is looking for these days. :?

There has been a lot of talk about the death of the PDA, and how smartphones are going to take over. I noticed that the majority of the new devices anounced in the last month have some phone functionality built in. I think it s more like PDA's growing into the phone niche, the same way PDA's have added WIFI. As long as there is no reduction in functionality (like this device) it doesnt really matter if it has some kind of wireless WAN built in.
My next device is going to the the MDA 2.

wherefore art thou, wi-fi?
this is a pretty cool phone/ppc combo. but with the lack of wireless options (bt & wi-fi) it's a bit troubling.

Hopefully this will come to Sprint in the form of a Toshiba branded audiovox.
Something is not right though...what is that bulbous thing on it. It looks like a wi-fi bulb antenna.

Because BT, WF, and CF would add bulk and price and make it harder to sell! I for one would be pretty stoked to have 153.6kbps, a CMDA phone (so it works outside of major population areas), and SDIO! That said, I do have to agree with you on the camera.

This looks like the new thera! anyway, it doesnt really need wifi or BT, since it already has a phone, and can surf the web, right? It may be an option, but if this can be selled at around $300 it may be a hit. Not all people want cameras. It may be an option also - $300 for the basic unit, and $500 for the fully loaded.

BT is not just so you can get a PDA to use a phone to get on the net. Maybe someone wants to use that 153k phone speed from their BT enabled laptop? For a phone, I see the biggest use of a PAN wireless system is through a hands-free headset. Unless you don't need hands-free operation or don't care about being tethered to your phone???

These are my sentiments exactly. We keep screaming for an all-in-1 and they aren't listening.
The appearance smacks of the T-Mobile. This gives me the opportunity to ask the question about the new MDAII. Reviews and photos show that there is no antenna, where is the stylus house? Like the IPAQ that pops up?
