Default New LG Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC Phone

http://www.gizmodo.com/archives/009315.php#009315

Gizmodo is reporting that LG is working on a new Pocket PC Phone. Unfortunately, I don't have a bigger picture, but I'd love to see this device with a separate keypad make it to the US market.

Rumor also has it this has a 1.1-megapixel camera. 8O It also supposedly has 192MB of "memory", which I bet is 64MB ROM and 128MB RAM. I bet, though, we'll never see this unit, and that it will be a Korea-only special. I hope I'm wrong, though.

I bet we'll see this later this year or early next. I base my guess on that the article states LG is putting this out to compete with the Samsung i700, which is very similar to it, except it has an older version of Pocket PC.

Remember, that is the reason why Sprint decided to delay that unit, until it is available with a more up-to-date OS? I suspect that Sprint may put this out instead since it may be a very near copy of the i700. Maybe wishfull thinking on my part...

I bet you're right about every one of your guesses!

They get all the best PPCPEs in Korea.

Hmm....I'm hoping this is a Zaurus style slide-out keyboard. :rock on dude!:

It looks like that might be the camera lens in the top left corner of the device.

So, any thoughts on the keyboard? It looks like it might actually side into the device! Wishful thinking on my part, but that would rock. 8)

man I'm all over that if it comes to Sprint. The way things are going with PDA phones and Sprint I think there will be some attractive options for us Vision users in the near future.

That makes us two, no wait -- a lot of Pocket PC users!

I do hope LG will not be limiting it to Korea only, that would be a waste of a good Pocket PC Phone.

Now that I look at it more closely it appears to be the exact same type of slider configuration as the Zire 71. Two halves that slide out, diametrically apposed to each other.

That's not a keyBOARD its a keyPAD.

Look at the picture... 3 buttons across. If you want to type anything, you're going to be doing it the same way you send TXT messages on your phone.

The keypad does look like it slides out of the device, tho; and that IS cool. I'd love to see a true KEYBOARD like this on any Pocket PC.

I wonder if they need beta testers..? :rock on dude!:

Kind Regards,

I haven't had a cell phone for about 3 years now, but if this makes it to market, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Very nice usage of available space. 8)
