Default Pre-Order HP iPAQ 4155

http://estore.shopplex.com/app/stor...092059015&aid=5

Want to be one of the first to get your hands on the forthcoming HP iPAQ 4155? Tek 'n Toys is taking pre-orders, but of course since HP hasn't released the device they don't know what the price will do. Think of it as a waiting list.

"The h4155 will have a styling reminiscent of HP`s popular h1900 series. And, surprisingly, it is almost exactly the same size. The h4155 is 4.4 inches long, 2.8 inches wide, and .53 inches thick (113mm by 71mm by 13mm}, dimensions so close to the h1900 series` that it`s possible the difference are only rounding errors. At 4.4 ounces (125g} is also only a hair heavier. If these dimensions turn out to be correct, then HP will have essentially managed to squeeze Wi-Fi and Bluetooth into the h1900 series without adding appreciably to the size or weight. Please purchase this item as normal to have a pre-released item ordered for you. All orders will be fufilled in order they where recieved. Your credit card will not be debited until the item is in our wearhouse. If you are ordering this item alone use COD option at check out."

WOW 8O Im in love with this form factor!
IMO there is no need for CF slot since it has already (Wifi + BT) wireless capabilities built-in. It will be great to add an SD memory + Camera on this device.

Admittedly, I use the CF slot in my 221x device more for WiFi than anything else, but I do also use a 1GB CF card for movies, a CF camera, a CF GPS when on the road, and a LAN 10/100 and modem CF card on occassion. What HP needs to do is figure out a way to put WiFi into the 221x and add a flip-cover ala Jornada 56x. What I don't want to do is take out my nearly permanent 256SD card just to add some sort of external peripheral like PDA camera.

Well, I suppose it kind of makes sense for a company that sells PDAs

This looks like a great little device! I used a 1910 for a long time and loved the size of it, but it was a little sluggish, so I switched to the 2200. I'm tempted to get one of these 4100's, but I really want to wait until we start seeing higher rez screens on Pocket PC's...

Why did HP switch from the cool button layout of the 1900 series? Perhaps to save costs?

Thanks

From the looks of it, I would think that this new button layout may be better for games.

Default Leave it to HP

Good grief, yet another ugly device from HP. They have essentially abandoned the original Compaq design for this? I have coasters with more appeal. At least with the original design you could put a sleeve on their and get your functionality in a myriad of ways. But no sleeve AND no CF? How retarded. This goes to make me more satisfied I moved off my iPaq 3630 (which was and is a wonderful device) to the Axim. The X5 doesn't look nearly as nice as my 3630, but at least it has the features (and then some) of the newer HP devices at less cost.

HP--the SciFi Channel of PDAs (start out with a good thing and then destroy it after a season or two).
