Default Toshiba e800 Powerpoint Slides Posted

http://www.pocketpctools.com/module...viewtopic&t=579

My, my - there's all sorts of new device info leaking lately! Pocket PC Tools has followed up their e800 information release by posting the actual PowerPoint slides they received. Not much in the way of new information, but go take a peek anyway. ;-)

They seem to really emphasize the display capabilities... I hope this comes true. It may be that apps need to write to this specifically, but otherwise switch to 320x240 emulation mode (pixel doubling). I can see good use of this resolution in a browser (landscape) and in programs like PocketMVP and PocketTV

In the other thread discussing this, someone mentioned that the VGA probably meant that it was able to connect to a VGA projector, but in looking at the slides, it is clear that it will truly be the display itself! :way to go:

I like the bigger screen and the USB. VERY VERY nice. Other than that, its one ugly colour!

I noticed the first slide mentions that this is the first PDA with a VGA display. Does that mean my Zaurus 760 doesn't exist?

This would certainly be a big step forward if it turns out to be true. Even if only a limited set of apps support VGA I'd consider upgrading to it. IE and textmaker alone might be enough to do it but I really hope they also support a landscape 640x480.

This looks really, really nice. But I am holding out until PPC2K4 comes out. Imagine what a device will be out then.

Looks nice. It's going to be difficult choosing my next PPC in a few months. A lot of interesting options out there.

Default The e800 spec is on FCC now

The e800 spec is on FCC now, so it is formal.

I just can't understand, none of the info in the post is correct. Which idiot spend the time to make up the powerpoint presentation to amuse people?

It uses the under-performing ATI Imageon chipset. Look at the last pages of the user manual (poorly formatted doc) for product specs
