Default PocketMatrix Reviews The Asus A620; BT Version Coming Out

http://pocketmatrix.com/reviews/a620/

If you don't know already, the Asus is the "dark horse" of WM2003 Pocket PCs -- it's out, it's supposedly available, but it's little-seen. It also happens to be very fast. As the reviewer put it:

"I have found that with the Asus, a lot of things that seemed fast enough on my 2215, just do not cut it anymore now that I have experienced the speed of the A620. For instance, being that I had the 2215 long before I received my Asus, I had already been using it for SNES. I found the speed to be remarkable, and I didnt think it could get much faster. But that is where the Asus proved to be a far superior device."

Wow. 8O It's entirely possible the A620 is the fastest Pocket PC on the market. Not only that, BargainPDA reports that the FCC has apparently approved the A620BT for US use. Not bad! 8)

I guess I should comment on the speed, or the size... but I was blown away by that leather case!!! Why didn't anybody come up with something like that before! I wish my h1910 had such an option.

I've seen the A620 in person, and it felt shockingly cheap...I'm really hoping it was some sort of pre-production unit... :|

Did I just look over it quickly or did it not have an SD Card slot?

Shoot, and I just traded my CF card for an SD card in anticipation of buying an iPaq 1945.

Is there an SD-->CF slot converter? The Bluetooth makes all the difference for me. Fast, and better battery life too!

With peripherals slowly but surely moving from CF to SD(IO), I've been hoping a full convertor would appear so that I could continue to get mileage out of my Axim if and when that one killer gadget comes out in SD only. Since a simple $10 converter exists that goes from PC Card -> CF Slot, I figured it would be easy enough to do the same thing with CF -> SD. Anyone know if a full convertor is technically feasible or not?

I already saw a CF to SD converter going for 50. It was the exact size of a simple CF card. I saw a CF to Memory Stick Converter too. That is good news for all you Sony-Digital-Cameras bearers.
