Default D-Link Posts Beta Drivers for Windows Mobile 2003

http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.a...estion=DCF-660W

I know people have been searching and developing workarounds for their D-Link wireless CF cards; finally, it seems like they're moving towards the release of a driver by releasing a beta.

"Currently, D-Link does not offer Microsoft Mobile 2003 drivers for the DCF-660W. D-Link is working on development of drivers and will post them at http://support.dlink.com/products as soon as they are available. We now have BETA drivers posted. Please use these at your own risk and let us know your results (either below in the comments box or at the Contact page)."

Let us know if you're successful!

The drivers don't allow you to turn off the Wi-Fi from the Start bar like the Senao/Intersil WM2003 reference drivers:

Back to the Senao's for me

Drivers seem to work fine.

Boxster - do the Senao/Intersil WM2003 reference drivers work with the 660W? Please say more.

Yes, they do. Go here to see how to install them:

Not much luck on my Axim. It was able to connect once to two different networks and then failed to see either one after a reset. I'm planning to hard reset it today and try again, but I'm probably going back to the Senao drivers myself.

Hmmmmm....weird........I installed the 2002 drivers on my HP2210 and it works like a charm!

I installed the beta, it seems to have installed well, but I can't see any icons in setting or programs for the software. When I try to do an unisntall, I see a 802.11b driver, w/c I'm assuming is the beta driver.

Is there anybody experiencing the same problems with the beta drivers on the 2200 like me :?:

If it helps I uninstalled the 2002 driver before installing the beta driver.

There are no programs per se. The driver makes it integrate with the OS. You should be able to go to the netword card page of your connection settings and see the wirless settings. Also, it should auto-discover any SSID being broadcast.

Does anyone know if they are working on the DCF-650W? Thanks.

Darn, this is bad news. Not knowing that the DCF-660W PPC 2002 drivers don't work, I've installed them on my iPaq 2215 and they've worked without a hitch. I guess now that I know they don't work, they'll just stop... kind of like the cartoon characters that run off a cliff, but don't fall until they realize what they've done. Seriously, since it's working, I think I'll just skip the beta drivers and leave well enough alone. I also noticed that rmasinag says the 2002 drivers work well on his 2210, so perhaps the 221x iPaqs just do work with the old drivers for some reason. A bit of luck there.

When I run the 2002 driver on my 2210, there is an icon in the settings/sytem tab. when you fire that up the icon even shows up the bottom left of the desktop/today screen, right next to the BT icon and then I can access my wireless setting from there and turn on the D-link card.

I've searched for something similar on the beta driver and can't seem to find one :devilboy:

Oil well ........back to the 2002 drivers when I get back home.
As for other 2200 users, am I one of the few lucky one in which the 2002 drivers work?? Still works even after a hard reset(forgot to backup  )
