Default SDIO 1.3 Megapixel iPAQ Digital Camera

http://www.mobileplanet.com/private...65616&listing=1

There's very little information on this new camera, but it appears to be the recently-announced iPAQ SD camera. 1.3 megapixels? Nice!

 1.3 megapixel resolution
 4x digital zoom
HP Image Zone desktop tools to edit and share pictures
 Size: 65mm x 50mm x20mm
 Weight 1.1 ounces

You can order the camera for $159.95 USD from Mobile Planet. [Affiliate]

Yes, but this is one way OEMs try to keep competative advantages over other OEMs on the market. When you buy a Pocket PC, you have to think about what other accessories the OEM offers in the long term...

Does anyone know for a fact it WON'T work in Toshibas or others? I believe it would only take a proper driver to make it work. I know the Toshiba SDIO slot is different than HPs but I have to think a driver could make it work.

I agree, without a flash the usability is diminished greatly.

I've never seen an adequate 1.3mp camera addon for the PocketPC. I don't even care about flash--I just want the pics not to look like crayon drawings. We'll see how this one does.

I'm still bummed that my iPAQ CF card camera plug-in (or whatever it was called!) hasn't been supported with drivers for the newer units... Makes me question the lifespan of any HP add-on such as these.
