Default Windows Mobile Toshiba e355 Pocket PC only $199 with Free Shipping!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/A...1661283-7637632

Although I still have a grudge against Toshiba for what they did to e3xx and e74x owners (not to mention e570 and Genio owners) by not providing a Windows Mobile 2003 upgrade, this offer is too good to pass up. The lowest Pricegrabber listing is $259, so this deal from Amazon is great! It has a 300 Mhz Intel XScale PXA255 processor, 64 MB of RAM, and weighs in at 5.2 ounces. You can read the full specs here. [Affiliate]

I have to admit to being quite tempted by this offer, especially since I have run out of room on my Axim. But I have lost all faith in Toshiba.

Deal or no deal, I don't feel this would be a good investment, unless I plan on using this PPC strictly as a "short term" device.

Bleh. Not a transflective screen. For $200 I'd get the iPAQ 1910. Just my opinion.

So why is this considered a deal? You can get a Dell Axim X5 Basic for the same price (that's its REGULAR price, no discounts). The Axim is a little bigger, has a little less user-accessable RAM, and no cradle but has twice the ROM, is dual slot, and has a much better looking screen.

You can also get near that deal on a HP 1910 (as mentioned earlier). The e355 is no deal at all. :|

Foo, the tech sheet on Toshiba's site says the screen on the e355 is Reflective, not transflective. (I like your site!)

Default So what

I like my e550g. That being said, no upgrade, no more Toshiba anythings. Planning on a 2210, but may wait till they put a camera in it.

I spotted this deal a couple of nights ago while I was looking for a PPC for my girlfriend/future wife. I have been looking for a good solid PPC that would serve her needs.

Wifi, bluetooth, ROM / RAM, CPU MHZ, upgradeability are as important as points on "Whose line is it anyways". For her this would be the perfect PDA.

I could not help compare it to the h1910. IIn a way, the ipaq is a better deal since it has a awesome screen (although no one has compared the two) and a removable battery. (which is a must!!!) But the toshiba has wm2003 (better wmplayer and explorer) and comes with a cradle (making it $50 less than an ipaq + cradle).

This toshiba is a good value for those who dont need an axim or a 2215.
The problem is, that she likes the Palm Zire 71 more than all I have shown her! (she played with one already and loves the camera  )

:confused totally:

I've noticed Windows Mobile 2003 device prices dropping by large amounts also.

In some cases $100CAD less than three weeks ago.
